Dr. Asha Elizabeth Mathew is an Associate Professor of Family Medicine at Christian Medical College, Vellore, India. She holds her bachelor's degree in Medicine and Surgery and a Diplomate from the National Board of Examination in Family Medicine. She is passionate about primary care practice using the core principle of Family Medicine, namely person-oriented care. She nurtures the younger generation in the Family Medicine specialty and has co-authored a book for their training. Her wide range of clinical interests covers health issues in all phases of a person's life in the context of his/her family & community. She has a focused interest in the prevention and management of cardiometabolic diseases. Her research publications' themes include obstetric care and referral, variation in alcohol dependence during COVID lockdown, and Family Medicine training.
